Using light sheet microscopy to visualize neurodevelopment in zebrafish.
The Halloran and Huisken labs are collaborating to use medium-throughput LSFM to screen candidate genes for roles in sensory neuron development. Here is an example of one such movie, taken of a zebrafish embryo during the elaborate process of Rohon-Beard cell axon arborization and pathfinding. We are able to achieve a high degree of detail despite imaging over a large spatial distance and temporal window.
